What Is Sponsor Licence Compliance?
Sponsor licence compliance is the ongoing obligation of UK employers who hold a Home Office sponsor licence to meet a defined set of sponsor duties. These duties include maintaining accurate records for all sponsored workers, conducting and documenting right-to-work checks, reporting changes to the Home Office within 10 working days, ensuring sponsored workers are paid at or above the relevant salary threshold for their SOC code, and cooperating with any Home Office compliance visit or audit.
Failure to meet these duties can result in the sponsor licence being suspended, downgraded, or revoked. A revoked licence means the employer can no longer sponsor Skilled Workers, and existing sponsored employees may lose their right to work in the UK.
